Only 6,502 Indianapolis 500 Pace Car Corvettes were produced in 1978, and this one is a highly optioned, incredibly clean example. Options include: L82 engine, power windows, power locks, tilt steering, AM/FM/CB radio, mirrored t-tops, vinyl/cloth interior, alloy wheels, radial tires, power steering, A/C, and 4-wheel power disc brakes. The L82 engine was rated at 220 horsepower and is backed by a 3-speed automatic transmission. Only 7,138 out of 46,776 Corvettes received the CB from the factory, making this rare in a couple ways. The Pace Car package included Black over Silver paint with Red pinstripe, Indianapolis 500 Pace Car decals, and a special VIN sequence, which had never been done before by Chevrolet. 1978 was also the 25th Anniversary for the Corvette, making this a very special year and car. It would be a great addition to any collection of Pace Cars, Corvettes, or rare classic cars. This vehicle also has the cloth inserts on the door panels and seats, which is a rarely seen option.
