L69, MM5, M39, G80. If those RPO codes mean something to you, then you know just how special and rare this 1985 Chevrolet Camaro IROC-Z is! RARE, RARE, RARE!! What that means is this first year IROC-Z Camaro left the factory with the high-output engine, a 5-speed manual transmission, and a limited slip rear differential. This was THE muscle car to have in 1985! Another rare option is RPO GT4 which decodes to the 3.73 rear end ratio! Add to that the very desirable Bright Blue paint, and the low production Black Custom Cloth interior and you have a real collectible piece of Chevrolet history. With a clean CarFax, clean and clear Florida title, and some very low production numbers, this was the beginning of the IROC name becoming truly legendary! Let's break this down: Only 2,497 had the high-output 305! (1% of production!!!) 180,018 total Camaros built in 1985 27,418 of all Camaros had a 5-speed manual transmission (15% of production) 21,177 were IROC (11.7% of production) 17,635 of all Camaros were Bright Blue (9.7% of production) 15,327 of all Camaros had the limited slip rear end (8.5% of production)
We cannot find production numbers on the Black custom cloth interior, but it's certainly not something we see very often. This has been in a private IROC collection and is the owner's pride and joy! He has always had it garage kept, and this has always been a southern car. The CarFax shows it spent most of its life in California, a brief stint in Alabama, and then Florida to the current owner. T-tops, A/C, power windows, power locks, remote trunk release, AM/FM/Cassette, tilt, and other options will keep you and your passengers comfortable while you grab gears and listen to the rumble of the V8 through the exhaust.
