2005 Ford GT The Ford GT is a high-performance supercar produced by Ford Motor Company. It draws inspiration from the iconic Ford GT40 race cars of the 1960s, designed to compete and defeat Ferrari at the prestigious 24 Hours of Le Mans race.

The modern Ford GT was introduced in 2004 as a limited-production concept car to celebrate Ford's 100th anniversary. Due to its overwhelmingly positive reception, Ford decided to produce a road-going version, and the first-generation Ford GT entered production in 2005.

The first-generation Ford GT featured a mid-engine layout, a supercharged 5.4-liter V8 engine producing over 550 horsepower, and a top speed exceeding 200 mph. Its retro-inspired design paid homage to the GT40's iconic race car heritage.

Production of the first-gen Ford GT concluded in 2006, with a total production of around 4,000 units.

In 2016, Ford reintroduced the Ford GT as a modern, limited-edition supercar. This second-generation Ford GT features a carbon fiber body, active aerodynamics, and a twin-turbocharged EcoBoost V6 engine producing over 600 horsepower.

The modern Ford GT has been designed for performance and track capability, as well as being a showcase of Ford's engineering expertise.

With its striking design, powerful performance, and limited availability, the Ford GT has become a highly sought-after and collectible supercar, cherished by automotive enthusiasts and a symbol of Ford's racing heritage.
