2019 Ford F350 4X4 FX4 Crew Cab Long Bed
In its fourth generation, the Super Duty line of trucks was unveiled at the 2015 State Fair of Texas. Seems appropriate since Ford trucks are usually in the top three of most common and popular trucks in the Lone Star state and trim levels such as the Lariat and King Ranch gained direct inspiration from the resource driven economy and culture of Texas. F350's are heavy duty work trucks, but in Texas, it's not uncommon to see them put into service for soccer moms and blue collar workers as well.
For consignment, a 2019 Ford F350 4x4 FX4 Crew Cab Long Bed in shimmering black and adorned with some custom features that set it apart from your run of the mill F350, if there is such a thing. This one has a title verified 63,366 actual miles and although it's never been used as a plow truck, there's a plow frame and wiring ready to accept a Boss plow and our consignor states the blade might be available for an additional charge.
Exterior
The sheer size of this behemoth strikes you just before the acres of shiny Black paint registers in your cranium. Proportions are huge here with a Mack truck like grille, a mile high hood, and a lift you could practically walk under. Chrome capped extended side mirrors with embedded turn signals are intended to work with towing situations which this truck is more than capable of doing as we'll learn. The open long bed is lined and has had some use but is in fine condition while the upgraded running board creates a secure and stout lower rung to climb into the cab. 22-inch Fuel wheels were added with silver lined black spokes, and they wear LT tires with a late 2021 date code. The two stage paint is in great condition with minimal imperfections including some spotting on the hood and a small dent on the front right fender.
Interior
Gray molded plastic door panels have ample storage and are accented with a platinum panel and robust door pull. Use the A-pillar handle to climb aboard and you'll find gray cloth seats with patterned inserts and a center armrest that rotates up to form a third seat. There's a small stain on the driver's seat upper but the rest is in great condition as is the back bench, configured for three occupants who will have plenty of leg and head room and their own assist from a pull handle on the B-pillar. Some discoloration is noted on the center rear seat. The steering wheel is awash with thumb controls for various functions and the dash is a simple two gauge layout with center info screen and four small horizontal gauges across the top. A large screen occupies the center stack and is the control center for the back up camera and audio that includes AM and FM with Bluetooth, Sync, and XM capabilities. The climate control panel falls below that and is simple in design. An overhead console has switches for auxiliary items and for interior lights. Please note that while the air conditioning was working at the time of our drive report, we cannot guarantee this system will continue proper operation in the future.
Drivetrain
Under the hood, we have the 6.7 liter Powerstroke Diesel rated at 450 horsepower and 935 pound foot of torque. It's fuel injected and tied to a 6R140 6-speed automatic sending power to a Dana M275 axle in the rear and a Dana 60 axle in front. Each wheel is equipped with power disc brakes.
Undercarriage
Relatively clean underneath for a work truck with evidence of usage, some road spray, and typical surface rust. The belly pans and frame rails are clean and like everything else about the truck, components are large and substantial. A lift kit has been installed on the suspension which includes radius arm and coil springs in the front and leaf springs in the rear. The single exhaust encounters the original equipment muffler then exists under the right rear quarter panel with a sizable exhaust tip.
Drive-Ability
Acrophobia sufferers need not apply. The perch is high in the sky and affords an interesting perspective on cars below you and their occupants. But I digress. This rough and tumble modern work truck provides a comfortable and roomy cabin and enough power to get it moving at a respectable clip while possessing the ability to tow a race trailer, long camper, farm equipment, or just about anything you want. All of the functions including lights, radio, camera, and brakes work flawlessly and this truck is ready to be called into service.
A great looking and capable truck, the F350 is not for the faint of heart. It's a bruiser and can get the job done, or a cruiser and allow a comfortable ride so high that if you're ever stuck in traffic, fantasies of driving OVER it would not be unwarranted, or advised, by the way. But if you need a vehicle that can tow, plow, and get you out of trouble, this is a great find.
