One of only 6,052 manufactured for the 1987 model year, this 1987 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS Aero Coupe was originally designed to be more aerodynamically efficient for high-speed NASCAR racing. The large rear glass slopes backward to create a semi-fastback.
The car was very successful on the track, and a street version was marketed in 1986 and 1987 for NASCAR homologation, much to the joy of NASCAR fans. This Aero Coupe is equipped with air conditioning, tilt steering column, upgraded Amani steering wheel (original wheel included with car), cruise control, cloth reclining bucket seats, color-keyed dual sport mirrors and instrumentation with a 120-mph speedometer.
Additionally, this rare SS/Aero Coupe custom speaker console beneath the dash with a Kenwood stereo featuring equalizer and bass controls along with two DS 18 6 - inch speakers, tweeters on the pillars and another set of 18s in the package tray, as well as Kicker Comp 10-inch subwoofers in the trunk.
