The first generation of Mustangs from Ford changed the auto industry as brought on the "Muscle Car" era. It was met with huge success and to continue that winning record in 1969 they started introducing a variety of performance packages and trim levels. One of these was the Grande. The Grande was only offered as a hardtop and was sold as the luxurious trim option with wood appliqués in the interior, a softer ride, and more sound deadening. They were offered with a vinyl top that was initially an option but became standard in 1971. This very cool 1973 is one of those Grande cars and was the last year for the 1st generation. It is a very nice driver and painted in a combination of Red with Black side stripes, a Black taillight panel, Black grill, and Black vinyl top. Painted front bumpers were standard on this model and in back the bumper is chrome. All of the factory emblems and trim pieces are mounted in place. The lights all work and the grill mounted turn signals sit to each side of that iconic running horse in corral emblem. The car rides on a set of Cragar S/S wheels which look perfect on a car of this vintage. Those are then wrapped with Hankook 215/70R14 tires.
Powering the car is a 302 V8 which it was ordered with originally. The motor runs well and is equipped with a Holley 4 barrel carburetor, Edelbrock Performer intake, Ford motorsport valve covers, and a chrome air cleaner. Combined with the motor is a 3 speed automatic transmission that shifts smoothly and the stock rear end. The power steering system on it is all new and it also has power brakes with discs up front making it very smooth to cruise around in.
