1955 Chevrolet 3100 Resto Mod For Sale - Art Morrison Chassis, Complete Frame Off Build
LMC is very proud to offer for sale this 1955 Chevrolet 3100 It was 1955, and while the newest in the Tri-Five line of Chevrolet passenger cars was impressing the buying public, the brand’s trucks were not far behind. Indeed, with GMC Trucks handling many of the larger models, Chevrolet offered its customers the smaller, sporty Advanced Design 3100 Series models. This desirable big-window, short-box example has been much further upgraded since then during a frame-off, no-expense-spared, custom build, and it’s been driven minimal miles since completion. The build started with a brand new, powder-coated Art Morrison GT ‘55 sport chassis utilizing sport independent front suspension, rack-and-pinion steering and a 9-inch rear end. While this truck looks incredible, it also has the performance to match. Under the hood is a new GM Performance RamJet 350 CI V-8 engine with its signature RamJet fuel-injection system. Behind the stout mill is a GM 4L65E 4-speed automatic transmission optimized for better cruising and drivability. The RamJet breathes through a set of ceramic-coated headers and a custom tig-welded stainless steel exhaust system. Braking is handled by Wilwood 14-inch drilled and slotted rotors at all four corners. A set of 18x9 front and 18x10 rear American Racing Torq Thrust II wheels wrapped in sticky Hankook Ventus RS4 tires finish the classic look of this special truck. The exterior was refinished in black paint with a silver accent on the cab, which is complemented by chrome trim and custom bumpers that have been shaved and tucked to give a better than OEM fit. The interior was refinished as well, now featuring a black leather seat, door panels and new steering wheel, along with a German weave carpet. A Stereo 55 2nd series radio was fitted with Bluetooth capability and custom speaker enclosures behind the seat. With more than 2,400 hours invested in the build, this stunning 1955 Chevrolet 3100 Custom is ready to be enjoyed or shown by its next caretaker.
