1950 MERCURY WOODIE Though the woodies were typically the most expensive models to produce in their respective lines, they had the poorest resale value at the time. And even before most models of the 1940s and 1950s became collectibles, the woodies had achieved a certain special interest status, with the favored being the 1949 - 1951 era Ford and Mercury. These woodies had established an almost cult like following in California with the surfers and beatniks in the 1950s and 1960s owners who regularly varnished and polished the wood every spring. Today, the 1949 - 1951 woodies have survived in the greatest numbers of original bodies because they had the highest original production and because of their sturdier steel inner panels and tops. Unfortunately, it is difficult to find an unrestored specimen from any of these years with perfect original wood. This stunning 1950 Mercury Woodie, one of only 1746 produced, is a treasure that would be the highlight of any garage. Highlights of the incredible build are: Black Cherry metallic exterior paint Dark mahogany and Birdseye maple wood Tan and chocolate leather interior Professionally built 350ci Chevrolet engine Ceramic coated aluminum headers Triple Demon carburetors recent serviced with new needles and seats New spark plugs 350 automatic transmission Vintage AC Front disc brakes Polished 17 & 18 Budnick wheels BF Goodrich tires Recent balance and alignment Custom audio AM/FM with flip up screen and dual sub woofers Solid rust free body, excellent driver. ***PLEASE GIVE US A CALL TO SEE THIS VEHICLE IN PERSON*** ***If you are viewing this on Facebook Marketplace, be sure to visit our website to view all photos.
