Description:
This Ford Thunderbird NASCAR race car is finished in the Coors/Melling livery of Bill Elliott's 1990 Cup car. It is powered by a 358ci V8 paired with a Jerico four-speed manual transmission and equipped with taillights, a Kirkey seat, a Schroeder steering wheel, 15 Bassett wheels, and Goodyear Eagle slicks.
Interior: The Kirkey racing seat and Schroth five-point harness were installed in March 2025. The cockpit is also equipped with a Simpson Race Products gearshift and window net. The Schroeder steering wheel is mounted to Sweet Manufacturing quick-release boss. VDO gauges for water temperature, oil temperature, and oil pressure are mounted in the dashboard, while an Auto Meter Pro-Comp tachometer is attached to the left side of the roll cage.
Exterior:
The car features Ford Thunderbird-style bodywork finished in the style of Bill Elliott's 1990 Melling Racing/Coors #9 car. In March 2025, the windshield was replaced and taillights were installed. The 15 Bassett wheels are mounted with Goodyear Eagle slicks, and the car is equipped with four-wheel disc brakes. The front brake caliper studs and rear shocks were replaced, new front shock mounts were fabricated, the brakes were bled, the master cylinder was rebuilt, and the front brake lines were repaired in March 2025.
Drivetrain: The carbureted 358ci V8 drives the rear wheels through a Jerico four-speed manual transmission. The spark plugs, plug wires, carburetor, and starter were replaced, and the oil was changed in March 2025.
