The first owner purchased this car brand new in 07 from Town and Country Motors in Middletown, CT and in the 10 years she owned the car, she put less than 15,000 miles on the car, using it only as a 3 season good weather cruiser. In 2017, the second/current owners bought her and they too have only put minimal miles on her, with total miles under 25K at 24,677, that's an average of less than 1500 miles a year. Only driven during the spring, summer and early fall, the car was always kept inside and was also regularly serviced as shown in the CarFax and the receipts the current owners have, with oil changes being the only needed services about every 3000 miles.
This Agressive Red Solstice certainly looks the part of a car with less than 25K miles. The Ebony leather interior is near perfect, aamof, I didn't notice any flaws in my time with the car. The red paint does show a couple very minor imperfections; there are 3-4 very small stone chips on the flip front clam shell hood, a very small scratch/rub on the pass mirror and a small scratch on the door just in front of the mirror. These can most probably be compounded/buffed out. The worst isn't visible unless you're on your back looking at the couple of curb scuffs under the chin spoiler.
The cloth top is in beautiful condition as well. One of the polished aluminum 18" wheels does have some minor delamination starting at the base of one spoke.
On a scale of 1-6, 6 being a rusted parts car and a 1 being perfect, this car is a solid 2 nearing #1 status, as the imperfections have to be sought out, they don't jump out at you.
The car is near perfect, she starts immediately and runs and drives beautifully.
This is a rear wheel drive car with a limited slip rear diff, 5 speed auto transmission and powered by an ecotec 2.4L VVTi 4 cylinder that puts out 177 HP. The car is not a large car nor is she very heavy so the 177HP/166 lb ft moves her quite easily and she is truly a sports roadster.
Bilstein shocks/struts keep the 4 wheel independent suspension in place and 4 wheel, power, ABS disc brakes stop the car easily and solidly.
The undercarriage is also in very good condition, minor surface corrosion on only a few fasteners throughout.
Some of the options this car was equipped with: (full list shown on the window sticker photo), leather seats and steering wheel, power windows, power mirrors, power locks, key-less entry and power trunk release, Monsoon 6 disc stereo w/7 speakers, AC, cruise control, steering wheel mounted cruise and audio controls, and floor mats. Other bits of interest, factory anti-theft, dual airbags, tinted windows, tilt wheel, stainless exhaust, fog lamps, rear window defrost ... and the top is NOT a power top, it must be released and dropped via human hands.
Based on mileage and overall condition, what is being offered here is in essence a 2 year old Pontiac Solstice. Everything works as it should and she accelerates and drives like a little 2 seat sports car should. Moving to a little more aggressive performance sports tire (away from the all season tires) will only magnify the quality handling characteristics.
With all the above taken into consideration, the family's asking price is $15,500.
