2015 Cadillac XTS Sedan
The 2013 Cadillac XTS adopted the new Cadillac design language and the new approach to the market. The edgy sloped and aggressive design should be more appealing to an important part of the market. General Motors listened more to the market and it came with the XTS, as an answer to the market's demand. A design that looks simple, yet attractive and with lots of details to discover. Standard wheels are of 19", but 20" light alloy wheels are on the options list. Inside the vehicle, the luxury is obvious everywhere. The instrument cluster is a configurable 12.3" TFT screen. On the center console, there is an 8" touchscreen display for the infotainment system. The interior design is beautifully crafted, with leather seats and Alcantara material on the ceiling. The brushed aluminum and wood inserts are completing the luxurious appearance. For the platform, the 2013 XTS featured an FWD architecture, and all wheel drive was available as an option. The Magnetic Ride Control is claimed as being the fastest available at the time of launch, and it was standard. Under the hood, there is a 3.6 liter engine mated with a standard 6-speed automatic gearbox.
For consignment, a competitor to the Euro market in the form of a 2015 Cadillac XTS It can go from 0-60 in a respectable 6.6 seconds. This car is donned with the Luxury Package, Navi, Bose surround stereo, and a power sunroof. It has 19-inch wheels, shows 40,228 actual miles on the odometer, has been well cared for, and is a much loved car. Look out Europe!
Exterior
White Diamond is the apropos color for this luxury skate which sports chiseled but still subtle rounded looks. It has an eggcrate grille inset with aero vertical LED headlights and passive aggressive leading edge lines. And with its big wheels, chrome dress up, slightly flared pans, it manages to walk the performance line of luxury and performance and still fly under the radar as a daily commuter with some serious chutzpah. A tall profile roofline, rear spoiler, which doubles as a big V-shaped third brake light, vertical tail lights on either rear edge of the quarters, and stainless bumper central guard, it takes on a futuristic look. Dual exhaust peeks out from under the neoprene rear bumper and factory 19-inch wheels add plenty of bling to the edges and you can keep the crowds guessing with all that deeply tinted glass. We note a few scuffs and scrapes, particularly on the bottom of the front bumper and a host of curb rash marks showing their faces on the wheels.
Interior
A swing of the doors and we are greeted with plenty of technology and convenience buttons and dials. On the Jet Black leather and molded plastic doors with some Kona Brown leather highlighting and we see power windows, locks, and mirrors as well as adjustable seat memory buttons. The seats are smooth Kona Brown leather high back buckets in front and a matching rear bench. A center console is noted with shifter, cupholders and a small storage glovebox. Dash central holds climate control mode buttons and the large display screen interaction. You can choose between AM/FM/CD or find your way with the onboard navigation while you listen to tunes via the XM capable stereo with bluetooth connectivity and it sports a Bose sound system to rock on. With the luxury package you have access to tri zone climate controls, rear camera mirror, split rear folding seat, and a 110V power receptacle. Nice black carpeting is below and above is a power sunroof and tight headliner are above.
Drivetrain
Under the hood and under all those plastic coverings sits a 3.6 VVT V6. It has an output of 304 hp, is fed by EFI and a 6T70E 6-speed automatic sends power to the 2.77 geared front axle.
Undercarriage
Magnetic ride control, full independent suspension and power disc braking is all around in this rust free performance covering undercarriage.
Drive-Ability
Luxury best describes the driving experience of this car. It takes off like a rocket ship, handles like it's on rails and has all the conveniences one could want. I'll take this over the BMW or for that matter anything else. It's a sports car fer sur. While Classic Auto Mall represents that these functions were working at the time of our test drive, we cannot guarantee these functions will be working at the time of your purchase.
Move over unreliable Euro trash and make way for this chiseled beauty with many conveniences and magnetic ride control. That's just the tip of the iceberg though, as it has some serious V6 power but looks like the mild mannered Cadillac of its namesake.
