Description:
This 1967 Triumph Spitfire Mk III race car is powered by a 1,296cc inline-four linked with a four-speed manual transmission. It is finished in white and blue and equipped with a six-point roll bar, 13 Minator wheels, Koni shocks, front disc brakes, an Accusump oil accumulator, and a Halon fire suppression system.
Interior:
The cockpit is protected by a triangulated roll bar and equipped with a Kirkey racing seat, a Sparco harness, a high-mount rear view mirror, an Accusump oil accumulator, a battery, and a Halon fire suppression system. Instrumentation includes an Auto meter tachometer and gauges for oil pressure, oil temperature, and water temperature.
Exterior:
The Spitfire was introduced in 1962 and manufactured through 1980, and the Mk III was manufactured between January 1967 and December 1970. This example is finished in white with a blue stripe and equipped with a MkII-style hood. Close-up photos of the exterior are provided in the gallery. 13 Minator wheels are mounted with Hoosier racing tires. The car is equipped with Koni shocks and front disc brakes. Service in preparation for the sale included replacing the master cylinder, calipers, and pads.
Drivetrain:
The 1,296cc inline-four is equipped with twin SU carburetors. Service in preparation for the sale included changing the fluids and spark plugs. Power is routed to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission.
