The Chevrolet Malibu is a mid sized vehicle and was produced originally between 1964 and 1983. After a brief hiatus Chevrolet brought the Malibu name back in 1997 and they are still being produced today. In fact, they are the only Sedan Chevrolet currently offers. They were named after Malibu, California and have been made for 9 different generations. They were the highest trim level of Chevelle until completely branching off and become their own model in the 70s. This Malibu Sport Coupe belongs to the 1st generation and has been body on restored in various stages. The car was originally sold in St. Ann, Missouri and remained there until it was sold to Colorado in the 2000s and then finally Texas. The car comes with a copy of the original invoice, a ton of receipts, a clear title, owners guide, and the Protecto Plate which is still in the cars 1965 Chevrolet Owner Protection Plan booklet. It is very cool to have all of this type of documentation on a car that is almost 60 years old. The car has received at least 1 repaint in its original Regal Red color. The chrome and stainless is all cleanly mounted in place and has a nice shine. The tinted glass is in good condition throughout with no cracks or damage. The car looks mostly stock except for the added Silver Boss Motorsports wheels which are a nice touch. They look great on the car and are wrapped with Nexen 225/45R18 tires.
Pop the hood and you will find the car is still powered by its original 327 V8 motor. The engine has been rebuilt and is cleanly done in a stock look. A majority of the components are painted in either Chevrolet Orange or Black. The motor is paired with an automatic transmission that shifts smoothly and sends power back to the 12 bolt rear end. The car is nicely optioned out and per the original invoice it was special ordered with Power Brakes, Power Steering and Air Conditioning. All of those components are working properly. The underside of the car is all solid and the pans are all good.
The interior is completed in a matching Red and based on condition has been redone at some point. It has a split bench seat in front and a bench in the rear with matching Red seatbelts. The upholstery is all good as is the carpet, door panels, dash pad and headliner. During the repaint all of the hard metal components like the doors and dash were refinished as well. The dash has been kept all stock with its original Malibu trim pieces, gauges, switches, etc. It also has its factory radio. The trunk is painted in Gray with a Black floor mat and houses the original spare.
If you are into Chevy muscle cars this is definitely one to check out. It is in great shape and with all its original factory features it is pretty unique as well. It would make a great addition to anyone's collection.
