1965 Pontiac GTO 389 V8, Auto, PS, Looks And Drives Great

Debuting in 1964, the Pontiac GTO is widely regarded as the car that started the first muscle car era. For its sophomore year (1965), the GTO sported updated styling with stacked headlights and a singular simulated hood scoop design that looked more realistic than the previous, smaller dual fake scoops. An older restoration that still presents beautifully today, this 1965 GTO must be seen and driven. The rock-solid body looks great in its correct, high-quality respray in Cameo Ivory while the various chrome and stainless-steel components are similarly brilliant. The trunk and underside are solid as well. Other highlights include all original glass, new weather stripping, T3 headlights, factory side-splitter exhaust and 15-inch chrome American Racing Torq-Thrust wheels with new 215/70 R15 performance radial tires. The GTO's Blue interior looks fantastic from the headliner down to the carpet, including the door panels and upholstery and features bucket seats, a center console, remote driver-side mirror and a Pontiac-branded AM/FM/Cassette audio system for those Beach Boys tapes. Under the scooped hood is the freshly rebuilt, numbers-matching 389 4-barrel V8 with correct Carter carburetor. When we say freshly rebuilt, we mean it as there are only 12 (twelve) miles on the engine since the rebuild. The 2-speed automatic transmission has also been rebuilt. The nicely detailed engine bay will have you proudly hoisting open the hood when you treat the Cars and Coffee crowd to this gorgeous GTO. Underway, this Goat runs as good as it looks and sounds, which is to say great. There's plenty of smooth and eager power on tap.
