Extremely Rare 1967 Toyota Sport 800 LHD
This 1967 Toyota Sport 800 is an extremely rare find just out of a large European collection. White with black interior. It's been off the road in storage and is not currently running. A left-hand drive example that was imported from the Philippines. The previous owner took out the original matching numbers two-cylinder boxer engine and upgraded it with a modern water cooled Toyota 4 cylinder engine belonging to K series. This swap did not affect the engine bay so the original engine which is dismantled can be easily re-installed in the car. There are also aluminum wheels with larger tires in order to increase stability to better match the performance of the larger engine. Everything else is correct and complete besides the radio and speakers previously added. The Sport 800 was one of the first production cars featuring a lift-out roof panel, or targa top, pre-dating the Porsche Targa. The aluminum targa top could be stored in the trunk, when not in use. Between 1965 and 1969 approximately 3,131 units were built and of those, only about 10% of those vehicles are known to have survived. The vast majority of the 3,131 cars were right hand drive, but some 300 were left hand drive models. Weight was kept down by using aluminum on selected body panels and thin steel on the unibody construction. Don't miss this unique discovery.
