This 1964 Savoy sports its factory color combo WW White over tan interior, ordered new early 1964 as a bare bones utility wagon with a few flourishes, like the deluxe steering wheel, padded dash and, get this, front seat belts. As evidenced by the 1964 ""Daytona International Speedway Speed Weeks"" sticker in the rear quarter window glass, this car was destined to be modified into a draggin' wagon. Around 2013, the original drivetrain, a 225 Slant 6 backed by a 727 Torqueflite transmission was set aside in favor of the big block.
The leaning tower of power was swapped out for a pro-built 440HP power plant making a dyno tested 450 horsepower. The 440 is crowned by an aluminum dual-quad intake bejeweled by a pair of Edelbrock carbs. The rest of the ""go fast"" goodies are also present ad accounted for, big block ""K"" frame, MDS ignition, high flow exhaust from long tube headers to your choice of rear exit tips or side dumps. The Mopar Performance 727 transmission enjoys an auxiliary cooler and Summit pan, the engine a deep-sump Mildon oil pan. The original 3.23:1 Sure Grip rearend turns the twist into a pavement pounding shout. 15"" steelies appear stock, but the rears are a custom pair of wide width, wrapped in staggered set of meats to make sure that power makes it to the ground.
This wagon is a custom, but also highly original. This car was clean machine, treated to fresh paint during the restoration. The sheet metal, original. The interior, original. The glass and trim, original. The column mounted tach and auxiliary gauges are all period correct. The spare, prior to restoration, didn't even look like it had ever been removed.
