The Oldsmobile 442 was introduced in 1964 and quickly became a symbol of American muscle cars throughout the late 1960s. The name ""442"" originally referred to its four-barrel carburetor, four-speed manual transmission, and dual exhausts; it evolved into a badge that represented power and performance. The 1967 model showcased a more aggressive design and offered a solid blend of style and horsepower that appealed to driving enthusiasts. With its unmistakable presence on the road, the '67 442 has remained a sought-after classic among collectors and muscle car aficionados alike.
