1931 FORD MODEL A ROADSTER

1931 Ford Model A Roadster What we know about this 31 Model A Roadster is that she was restored roughly 30-40 years ago by a fellow in PA. That restoration included fiberglass front fenders and doors, new interior and a different engine (from a 29). The car was driven for a bit and then sold on to a fellow in Windsor CT. It was then purchased from his estate about 6 years ago, with the idea to turn her into a TROG "race car". They got her running and driving after her slumber in Windsor, but soon other projects got in the way. The current owner bought her with the idea of using her as a fun around town car on good weather days, but he too had some other life plans get in the way and now the car is being sold again. I look at this car and think that she is a great starter car for someone who want to get into the car culture for cheap. The body is solid (there is rust/rot in the pan under the seat used for storing the side curtains (which this car does not have) and as mentioned, part of it fiberglass. The frame is solid, the interior is in very nice condition, the engine sports great compression, a new starter and runs and drives great. The clutch grabs well (although with a little clunk if let off quickly) and the car moves right along, shifting well as she goes. The 4 wheel rod actuated brakes work great. The paint looks good but a little old, with a couple of small areas of brown rust color starting near the bottom of the rumble seat and various nicks, chips and cracks here an there. Headlights and taillights work, brake lights work and horn works. The cowl lights are not hooked up but wiring is in place. She also has a rumble seat with new upholstery, however, this was not originally a rumble seat car so there is no latch handle up top where there should be and there is a capped hole where the trunk handle would have been. The gas gauge and ammeter work, the odometer shows just over 82,000 miles but true mileage is unknown, the speedometer does not currently work as there is no speedo cable. The BF Goodrich Silverstone tires appear to be in good shape for tooling around town. The cloth top is in great condition and folds down easily with two people. She isn't going to win any shows, but she'll put smiles on the faces of the grandkids when they pile into the rumble seat to go for ice cream or down to the local cruise night, cars n coffee, etc. It'll probably put a smile on the driver too. With all of her flaws, she's still a great runner/drive that will give someone looking for the Model A Roadster experience a great time. Current owner is asking $8500 obo for her. Any questions, for many more photos and video, to see her in person or to make an offer, please don't hesitate to contact me. Thank you for the interest.

AutaBuy sold this car to a buyer in New Hampshire.
Original asking price was $8,500.
