Two 2025 Porsche 911 GT3 variants break cover

Porsche is marking the 25th anniversary of the GT3 with two new variants, the 2025 Porsche 911 GT3 and 911 GT3 with Touring Package. Both versions of the new GT3 arrive with all the stylistic enhancements from the recently updated 911, plus their own set of GT3-specific goodies. These include new front facias with a simplified, sharper overall design, along with revised headlights and taillights. Standard GT3s arrive with a large, redesigned rear wing, while the more demure Touring Package ditches the dramatic rear wing for a smaller active rear spoiler with gurney flap. All GT3s also get aero-focused enhancements like redesigned underbody air guides, spoiler lips, air inlets, and front splitters. A main point of difference is that GT3s retain their traditional ignition switch instead of the new push-button starter found in other new 911s. In a first for a GT3 model, the Touring Package trim will be available with optional rear seats, something Porsche says its customers have been requesting. The updated fully digital driver's display from other versions of the 911 almost makes its way into the 2025 Porsche 911 GT3s, though here they have a special track screen that displays additional performance data. The powertrain of the outgoing GT3 models carries over into both 2025 Porsche 911 GT3 variants. This means a naturally aspirated 4.0-lt boxer flat-6 producing 503 hp and 332 lb-ft of torque. Buyers will be able to choose between a six-speed GT Sport manual with an eight percent shorter final drive ratio or a seven-speed PDK dual-clutch automatic transmission. 0-60 comes in 3.2 seconds for the automatic and 3.7 seconds for the manual, with top speeds of 193 and 195 mph, respectively. Stricter emissions regulations mean Porsche had to equip these new GT3s with no fewer than four catalytic converters and two particulate filters, making those performance numbers even more impressive considering the new restrictions. The GT3 has always been a track-focused model, and one of the best ways to get around a track quickly is to reduce weight. Here, the new GT3 delivers with a new lightweight lithium-ion battery that shaves 10 pounds off the vehicle's weight and new aluminum wheels that shave off an additional 3.3 pounds. Those craving even more weight savings can opt for magnesium wheels that lop off another 20 pounds of weight (and are sure not to come cheap). New tires, 255/35ZR20 at the front and 315/30ZR21 at the rear, are said to improve wet-weather performance, and buyers will be able to opt for even sticker track-focused options as well. A new Weissach Package, previously available on RS models, makes its way to the GT3 for the first time. This package nets buyers carbon fiber anti-roll bars, drop links, end plate, shear panel, mirror caps, and roof. Yes, all in the name of weight savings. Buyers of Touring Package models can elect for the Leichtbau Package, which adds the carbon fiber suspension parts from the Weissach Package but with a body-color carbon fiber roof, magnesium wheels, and the shorter shift level from the 911 S/T. The lightest version of the new GT3 rings at 3,130 pounds, svelte for a modern-day high-performance sports car. Potential buyers will be able to place their orders for both 2025 Porsche 911 GT3 variants by the end of this year, with deliveries expected to begin summer of 2025. Pricing will start at $224,495 (including destination fee), more than $40k more than the outgoing GT3. The post Two 2025 Porsche 911 GT3 variants break cover appeared first on The Torque Report .
