1956 Chevrolet Bel Air Sport Coupe,with frame of build.
This 1956 Chevy hardtop is a stellar example, modified in 2004 as part of a build that involved a frame-off repaint using Dupont basecoat/clearcoat Moonlight Teal and India Ivory enamel. A rebuilt and fully reconditioned 350 CID V8 with lots of billet including aluminum intake,polished valve covers and breather,front runner pully system,aluminum catch can, GM 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission,headers, and 12 Bolt Positraction rear end with 3.43:1 gears replaced the original drive train. Inside, this classic Chevy has a custom bucket seat interior, with a center console, wraparound rear seat, and custom headliner is finished in ivory marine vinyl tuck and roll upholstery with teal beading. custom 3 gauge pod in center dash,tinted glass,all new S/S mouldings and new chrome bumpers,The dashboard gleams with polished aluminum bezels full of white faced VDO instrumentation, and the coupe features an AM/FM/CD stereo system with remote control, and Vintage air conditioning. The strong and reliable engine, rated at approximately 325 horsepower, is fitted with a 600 cfm Edelbrock carburetor, Edelbrock aluminum intake manifold and HPC coated exhaust headers. Under the hood, a reflective inner panel mirrors the highly polished billet valve covers, air cleaner, and dressed engine components. A close-ratio power steering box ensures easy steering and four wheel power disk brakes can be relied upon for quick stops. The radial tires surround Boyd Coddington “New Wave” rims.
The paint is flawless with a high shine. Close inspection reveals silvery ghost flames on the top and rear quarter panels when the sunlight strikes the finish right. The show quality chrome trim sparkles like diamonds, and triple plated “smoothie” bumpers fore and aft add to the beauty of this hot rod Chevy. The radio antenna is frenched in and a third brake light in the bowtie trim on the trunk.
Bucket seats recovered and color-coordinated in vinyl upholstery throughout the cabin. The leather wrapped Flaming River steering wheel is mounted on a tilt column, and other appointments include electric windshield wipers, an electric trunk release, and a hidden battery disconnect switch for security. The turquoise deep pile carpets show no wear or stains. The center console houses the stereo system, a storage compartment, and the B&M Quicksilver shifter to mix the gears.
A large Be Cool aluminum radiator with dual thermostatically controlled electric fans keeps the engine running cool, the dual exhaust system emits the glorious sound of the Heartbeat of America through side pipes in front of the rear fender wells, and a finned transmission cooler is mounted on the passenger side frame rail. This Bel Air hardtop rides on coilover shocks with tubular A-arms, 2 inch dropped spindles, and an anti-sway bar up front; triangulated 4 link adjustable coil over suspension rear. 9 inch ford,The rust free underside of the car is fully painted to complement the topside .priced at $64000 or trade.
