1969 Plymouth GTX
Dang! Is that a Hemi? Yup, and a whole lot more! Only 1,353 miles on a rotisserie restoration with upgraded suspension, steering, brakes and more! This one is a ripper that you can drive. Turn on the air conditioning, click it into 5th gear and cruise. EXTERIOR: This bare shell of a body was flipped on a rotisserie, stripped and e-coated. The body is straight as a laser beam with no rust or damage. Painted bright Viper Red without a vinyl top. It's polished like a mirror. Trimmed out with black along the bottom and 2 wide stripes on the hood. Show quality chrome on the bumpers, all the trim is straight and shiny. The weatherstrips were replaced. New windshield. Upgraded with a custom grill and a power antenna. Sitting strong on a set of Billet Magnum 500 wheels with performance tires. INTERIOR: Professionally custom made alcantara and vinyl upholstery with red accents and GTX monogramming on the seats and door panels. New cushions in the seats for a firm feel. The dash area is very clean, it has a factory tachometer. There is a modern stereo with kick panel speakers. The a/c vents are neatly installed under the dash. Upgraded with retractable shoulder belts in front. The headliner and carpet were replaced. ENGINE COMPARTMENT: It's a 472 dual quad hemi by Ray Barton. Inside it has a Callie's crankshaft, 9:1 compression pistons, eagle rods, stainless valves, H.D. springs, double roller timing chain and high volume oil pump. On top is an aluminum intake with dual 4 barrel carbs and an air grabber system. MSD ignition system supplies the spark and a set of coated headers let it exhale. It has a Tru Trac front runner system with billet brackets, pulleys, a/c compressor, alternator and a modern power steering which is all run with a serpentine belt. It also features power brakes. A big aluminum radiator with dual electric fans keep it cool. This is a clean install; the engine bay is painted slick. TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Under the trunk lid and the jamb are slick. Inside is solid with a spatter finish. Weatherstrip was replaced and the gel battery is relocated to the trunk. UNDERSIDE: This was flipped on a rotisserie and the bottom looks as good as the top. It has a fully custom chassis. Up front is a new cross member, tubular control arms, coilover adjustable gas shocks, swaybar, rack and pinion steering. Body stiffeners and frame connectors were welded in front to back and looks like the factory put them there. In back is a 4 link system with tubular control arms and coilover adjustable gas shocks. It has a custom fat exhaust with x-pipe, Dynamax mufflers and factory tips. Upgraded Wilwood brake system with big drilled and slotted disc at all four wheels, custom e-brake assembly. All new fuel system. Looking up at the motor it has a 7 quart oil pan and high torque starter. It has a complete Keysler trans package including a Tremec manual 5-speed. A rebuilt driveshaft leads back to an 8 3/4 rear end with 3.90 Sure Grip gears. The floors are pristine metal painted a color matched chip guard. It's new under here. SERVICE: We inspected this car, and it flew through the shop really well. All we had to do was set the idle, adjust the rear window and the parking brake. This muscle machine has it all! She's hot looking and can cook, it has looks and performance. When you look at it in your garage you will feel a little flutter, when your shifting gears on a winding road you will feel a lot more than a flutter! Go build one, spend $200,000 and hopefully it will be ready in a year or two.
