Acquired by the current owner in 2019, this 1974 Alfa Romeo Series II Spider is ready for a new garage to call home.
This sweet Alfa was purchased out of California from an Italian mechanic who had his own Italian automotive business and had the car for over 30 years! It then found its home in sunny Florida, where it has resided since.
The Alfa Romeo sports an Inline 4-cylinder engine that has been rebuilt. The cylinder head has been ported and larger valves take place. European 10.1mm high lift camshafts help those valves while dual Weber 40DCOE carburetors breathe in the air and fuel. Pistons with a compression ratio of 10:1 fill the cylinders with the horsepower rated at 160! This Alfa can get it! A Marelli Plex electronic distributor with a new rotor and a new water pump has been installed. A Magnaflow muffler lets the 4 cylinder scream. That Inline 4 is mated to a 5 speed with fresh gearbox and differential oil. The transmission mount has been replaced as well as the driveshaft having been rebuilt with new U-joints/donuts, and the center support bearing. Fresh Castrol GTX 20W-50 oil and filter round up the list of recent maintenance items
The exterior is covered in a white with subtle cream hues that are offset by the modern 15x7 ROTA RB 4x108 Hyper black wheels. Those wheels are wrapped by Kumho ECSTA's all the way around. The stance is further improved with Koni shocks which have new upper link bushings. New front and rear ceramic brake pads and rotors slow down the Alfa. A set of OEM front springs are in the trunk as the front springs where clipped one coil to bring the nose down a touch.
The interior shows nicely with black bucket seats holding you and your shotgun rider. Well-sized tachometer and speedometer sit in front of the driver while fuel, oil pressure, and temperature gauges rest above the uniquely placed shifter which creates such a short hand-movement, you just want to keep rowing! A Kenwood head unit with Bluetooth/USB and updated speakers allow you to tune into your favorite jams.
The headlights have been updated with Hella Halogen 002395301 Vision Plus helping you see at night. The addition of LED toggle running lights up front further assist with those night time twisties.
Jump in, row those 5 forward gears, and watch this Import add a smile to your face!
