1966 Ford Thunderbird |
The 1966 Ford Thunderbird, part of the fourth generation of Thunderbirds produced from 1964 to 1966, is notable for being the final year of this generation. This vehicle was owned locally in the village of Burr Ridge and features a powerful 390 cubic inch (6.4-liter) V8 engine, producing 315 hp and 427 lb.-ft of torque. It offers approximately 12-15 mpg and comes with a 3-speed Cruise-O-Matic automatic transmission. The interior is a striking two-tone combination of Madison gray and blue carpeting, complete with original Thunderbird floor mats. It includes a swing-away steering wheel for easier entry and exit, and is in great shape with no cracks or tears. The inner chrome trims shine nicely, adding to the luxurious feel. The exterior is in great condition, with solid paint, dent-free body, and well-polished, rust-free chrome bumpers and trim. The signature sequential turn signals add a classic touch that were a stand out feature with these cars. The underside of the hood insulation is in excellent shape, a common area of wear in these cars. The vehicle also comes with a car cover and a removable fiberglass tonneau cover, both in good condition. This 1966 Ford Thunderbird would make a great show car, with its impressive features and well-maintained condition.
